Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month 2026

  • Aug 21, 2026

This Hispanic Heritage Month, let us celebrate the past, embrace the present, and inspire the future through learning, creativity and community.

Arts Horizons believe that learning about different cultures help build stronger, more connected communities. Hispanic Heritage month provides an opportunity to celebrate traditions, values, and artistic expressions that continue to enrich our neighborhoods and inspire future generations.

CELEBRATE HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH ARTS HORIZONS

Lesson Learned is a music-filled stage play about a high school senior standing at the edge of graduation but struggling to see a future beyond an ordinary, dead-end job. When a caring classroom teacher refuses to let him shrink his dream, students watch possibility open through music, drama, and inspiring Latino/Hispanic history. Featuring historical character impersonations of Geraldo Rivera and Celia Cruz, the performance reminds students that education, culture, hard work, and self-belief can help them imagine and pursue a future bigger than the limits they have been handed.

FUEGO! Tracing the way through Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Cuba. This interactive bilingual assembly exposes students to the impact of Latin American music, culture and the power of embracing cultural diversity through dance, music and entertainment.

Salsa Festival introduces students to Salsa music and its spicy mixture of rhythms originating from many different cultures. Using a variety of jazz and authentic Latin percussions instruments, five talented musicians explore the Afro-Cuban roots of Salsa and its more contemporary variations. Students are introduced to basic techniques and learn the merengue, the role of each instrument, and the concept of the clave rhythm- the unifying element of Salsa.

FIESTA MEXICAN! Is a vibrant celebration featuring dazzling garments, traditional Mexican dances, and music. This exhilarating performance shares Mexican cultural expressions, explores rhythms rooted in native American, African, European and Caribbean cultures.
