Reading Rocks  NEW SHOW!!!!

The focus of this program is to engage the student’s imagination with songs while encouraging them to read more and visit their library more often.  Students participate by singing the zany library version of ‘Witch Doctor’, “Reading Rocks! and rapping to Tommy’s original song, “Your (library) Card is the Key”.

Technical Requirements


The artists will arrive 30 minutes to an hour prior to performance of the day. Please have the following set-up ready for them upon their arrival.

  • Clean, clear stage
  • 1 electrical outlet
  • Choral risers or stairs (so the artist can come into the audience from the stage)

About the Artist


Tommy Gardner has been performing children's music since 1998 both solo and with his duo, The Uncle Brothers. He has recorded 10 award winning CDs (Parents Choice, Parents Guide, Children's Music Web, and others) which includes school favorites such as, "I Will Never Smoke", "Bully Bubba", "Tease buster", "Rainbow", and "I Can". Other popular character education favorites (to be recorded soon) are "Stand Up To Bullying", "AOK (Acts Of Kindness)", and "We Will Rock Drug Free". Tommy has performed nationwide in schools, libraries, and town summer concerts.

Tommy has created many different shows for schools including, 'Stand Up To Bullying', 'Positive Choices (drug/smoking awareness), 'Reading (PARP, etc.), 'Cultural Awareness', 'and Fun with Health & Fitness".
